The green rush has arrived with more than 30 states with medical marijuana & over 10 with personal adult (aka: rec) use. And, what about CBD—it’s everywhere! The plant is big business for sure. That’s not all this ancient plant represents. Cannabis is leading the way for Personalized Lifestyle Medicine. Rather than a gateway drug, as once inappropriately derided, cannabis can be a gateway to health and wellness. Consumers are ready to change the health paradigm to selfcare. That’s why Laura, as an integrative practitioner & educator, co-wrote the curriculum on integrating cannabis with nutrition, aromatherapy, massage, herbal medicine, and other holistic modalities.

How did Laura get to this place? She took the path that her daughter Isabella Speranza—whose name literally means beautiful hope—set. Isabella was diagnosed with epilepsy, apraxia, IDIC-15, sensory integration and executive functioning disorders, and more, which catapulted Laura into a vortex. To emerge from the spiral, mother and daughter embarked of an incredible journey of learning and healing.

With Isabella as her guide, Laura took an integrative, holistic approach to nudging Isabella to live in the world as a happy, healthy, well-functioning member of society. The approaches that the duo tried were both many and diverse—from a ketogenic food plan (long before the keto was a buzz word) to cannabis and hemp oil. Changing health and wellness is never about one single factor. Change happens when you embark on a new journey and explore multiple paths.

That path that Laura took brought Isabella to radical health changes and has helped other clients—both in her private practice and in business consulting with cannabis-related companies.

With CBD being touted as the new kid on the block for both wellness and certain health conditions, The CBD Oil Miracle is a timely book from a seasoned, integrative health practitioner. The book reviews the science behind CBD, one of the compounds in the cannabis plant, for wellness and over 30 health issues including Alzheimer’s disease, autism, ADHD, anxiety, chronic inflammation, chronic pain, skin disorders, and gastrointestinal and women’s issues. The book features guidelines about selecting products, dosages and individualized medicine, CBD in beauty and skin products, and CBD for pets. The cannabis plant, from which CBD is derived, and its roots and rediscovery, as well as the “cannaphobia” that persists is covered. The CBD Oil Miracle features expert, yet understandable, information about cannabis and one of its cannabinoids CBD, also known as cannabidiol.

Get your nutrition and cannabis counseling and coaching from the expert who wrote the book—literally—and is the education dynamo and co-founder behind the first and only cannabis education program about integrating the ancient plant with other holistic approaches. In addition to her cannabis and CBD expertise, Laura is in a category all her own—a registered dietitian nutritionist who was in the first cohort for certification with the prestigious Institute of Functional Medicine.

Laura’s brand of nutrition counseling and coaching represents a marked and significant departure from conventional dietetics and healthcare. By investigating the antecedents and triggers of disease, she treats the whole person, not simply a set of symptoms.
